Social Phobias (also Social Anxiety Disorder)
People with symptoms of social phobia have an intense fear of social or performance situations in which they might experience embarrassment and may include the experience of panic attacks when faced with these types of situations. The most common of the social phobias is public speaking, although a number of people also fear eating, drinking, or writing in public places. Fears of using a public bathroom may be indicative of a social phobia as well.
Cognitive Behavioral Treatment has been shown to be one of the most effective treatments for these symtpoms.
